Halloween is a time for creativity and imagination. Anyone can be anything they want. Girls can be super heroes, boys can be princesses and society doesn’t bat an eye. Last year my son wanted to be a pink robot. His favorite color was pink and he loves robots. However, with his age and sensory he didn’t want to wear the box. He just wanted to play with it. He struggles with tactile defensiveness towards clothing and bulky outfits so dress up clothing is usually avoided. This year he wanted to be Lightening McQueen. He is obsessed with Lightening McQueen and anything red. I have made his costumes for the last two years and enjoy making them what he wants. I wanted it to be comfortable so he would enjoy wearing it. I searched for alternatives and came across some Disney Pixar Cars decals. Typically they are used for marathons, but they were perfect for us. I could buy cotton clothing and iron them on. The hat was a must have and he loves it! I was assigned Sally and my husband is Mater. He does the voice perfectly.
BEEP BEEP!
We are also supporters of the teal pumpkin project. With our food allergies, sensitivities, and preferences we can not eat the “typical” halloween candy. This is such a hard age for my son since he doesn’t completely understand why he can’t, but wants to join the activities. FARE started a project call the teal pumpkin project. Displaying a teal pumpkin on your porch and having their sign shows that you have non food related items to give out. I hope this project changes the way treat or treating is for everyone.
KA CHOW!
Last Saturday I had a booth at the Dogfest event held at Oak Hill park in Danville. CCI hosted a large fundraiser event with a live band, games, vendors and more. It was really amazing to see everyone come together in support of CCI and those who need these service dogs. There were even raffles and I had a mini session in the raffle! I also made organic pumpkin, gluten free, dog treats. I still have more if anyone would like to purchase for a donation.
I offered Puppy Portraits during the event in my booth. A large portion of the proceeds went to CCI.

Sweet Maddi was absolutely adorable in LC Florals flower crown. Laura from LC Florals is such a talented florist and I love working with her. Thank you Maddi for being our model on this very hot day. After we explored the barn and enjoyed a fun game of chase in the sunset.
1970’s hair and a botanical garden…
Another one of Hair by Missy’s creations. I love capturing her creative hairstyles and this one is amazing. Now I want big curly hair! The botanical gardens in San Francisco is a gorgeous place to visit. There are so many beautiful plants inside the green house. Outside there’s a lawn area where you can picnic, plenty of walking trails, and good music. Here are a few pictures from our session.
When a problem comes along you must flip it!
I love working with Missy Craig. She is so ambitious and talented. Here are some of the hair flips from her Viridescent shoot we did earlier this year. We had so much fun! Good music, great company and vegan cookies….
